I am currently offering for sale
GPS units to be used for APRS or navigation via a computer.
These units are plug-and-play when
used with the Kenwood TM-D700A or THD7A(G).
The units include an Axiom SirfStar
12-Channel GPS receiver and a Panasonic (Matsushita) Magnetic
mount GPS antenna. The standard unit (for use with the Kenwood TH-D7A(G)
and TM-D700A) includes the GPS module installed in a project box and
includes a 9-pin D-Sub connector for computer communications and a 1/8" TRS
connector for interface with the D7A/D700A as well as a blue LED which
flashes at 1PPS when the GPS has a satellite lock. The GPS units
operate from 7 to 25VDC and draw 180MA Max at 13.8VDC (usually closer to
150MA).
I can also make customized versions
of this GPS unit for an additional fee including the integration of a
TinyTrak3 or PocketTracker module within the project box.
These are some pictures of the
PockeTracker variant. You will note the second SMA for connection of a
2 Meter antenna.
